Edward Somma, MD

Bio

Edward Somma, MD was born and raised in nearby Brooklyn NY, where he started his education at the prestigious Poly Prep Country Day School. He furthered his education at Wagner College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Somma received his MD from Ross University and served his internship in Internal Medicine at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Seton Hall Post Graduate School of Medicine, where he was elected Chief Resident of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Somma has been in practice in Union and Middlesex counties for over 20 years, with an emphasis on excellence and compassion for his patients. He focuses on treatments of various medical conditions including diabetes, obesity, heart disease and preventative healthcare. He also serves as a clinical educator for Seton Hall University’s Physician Assistant program and as Associate Professor of Medicine. He has served as a physician for various local Boards of Health and Education. He was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year Award by Trinitas Health Foundation, for his dedication to the community and his outstanding service to the local community.

Dr. Somma has acted as a consultant and educator for major pharmaceutical companies, such as Schering-Plough and Pfizer. He remains an active advocate for breast cancer research and survival through his membership at the Pink SOCS Foundation.

Bio

Dr. Ragukonis is double board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesia and specializes in minimally invasive spine intervention. He did his residency training at the prestigious Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Ragukonis grew up in New Jersey and earned his BA degree from Rutgers University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He then attended Rutgers Medical School and graduated in 1991, having obtained his degree as a medical doctor.

After completing his residency, Dr. Ragukonis immediately began his private practice in Bergen County, New Jersey. For over 25 years, he has been dedicated to decreasing pain in the most comprehensive and minimally-invasive fashion. He cares for his patients and their families in an environment that is both high in quality and delivered with dignity and respect. He is consistently named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for his excellence in medical care and practice.

Dr. Ragukonis spends time giving back to the community. He is an active contributor to Tomorrow’s Children, Celebrity Fight Night, The October Woman Foundation, The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, The National Police Defense Association and Rutgers University students. He is also a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers University.
